PAC CENT CYBER<1186> - Announcement The Stock Exchange has received a message from Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited which is reproduced as follows: " PACIFIC CENTURY CYBERWORKS LIMITED Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited ("PCCW") notes press speculation and confirms that it intends on Friday 8th October, 1999 (the "Transaction") to acquire about 25.1% of the shares in Silkroute Holdings Pte. Limited ("Silkroute"). The total consideration payable by PCCW in the Transaction is to be satisified in cash and by the issue of new shares of HK$0.05 in PCCW representing approximately 0.3% of the existing issued capital and approximately 0.3% of the enlarged issued share capital of PCCW.
