Germany’s market leader in the field of small-ticket IT, posts pre-tax earnings of EUR 5.8m for HY1 2000 as per June 30. This corresponds to an increase of 91.5% compared to a figure of EUR 3.0m for the same period of the previous year. As already reported beforehand, the group’s new business (i.e. the total acquisition costs of newly purchased leasing items) rose by 66.1% in HY1 2000 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a figure of EUR 80.3m. Foreign business and the Internet subsidiary Weblease have made superproportional contributions to this business expansion. After-tax profit rose distinctly by 198.1% to EUR 4.2m, compared to EUR 1.4m in HY1 1999. If one leaves out the dissolution of deferred taxes in connection with the reorganisation of the company prior to the IPO, the improvement in earnings comes to 122.9%.
