Greencoat UK Wind PLC

Investment management team succession

Greencoat UK Wind PLC (the "Company" or "UKW"), the leading listed renewable infrastructure fund, invested in UK wind farms, announces that Stephen Lilley has informed the UKW board of his intention to step down from his role as co-head of the Schroders Greencoat LLP ("Schroders Greencoat") investment management team managing UKW on 24 April 2025 following the Company's AGM.

The Board is pleased to announce that Steve Packwood, Partner, Schroders Greencoat, will join Matt Ridley as co-head of the investment management team to manage UKW alongside Matt Ridley from 24th April 2025.

Steve joined Schroders Greencoat in January 2025. He has 20 years' renewable energy experience, spanning the development, construction and operational phases across a range of technologies. Prior to joining Schroders Greencoat, he was Regional Director of Projects at BayWa r.e. where he was responsible for the development and construction of wind, solar, and storage projects in several European markets, including the UK. Prior to this, Steve worked for Cubico Sustainable Investments ("Cubico") where he led the Northern Europe team and was responsible for all activities from M&A to asset management. Before Cubico, Steve worked for over a decade at RES in a variety of commercial roles gaining extensive experience across the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects. Steve holds a BSc in Geology from Bristol University, a MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough, and is a CIMA qualified chartered accountant.

Lucinda Riches, Chairman of Greencoat UK Wind, said:

"On behalf of the Board, I want to take this opportunity to thank Stephen for his vision, judgement and unwavering commitment to list, manage and grow Greencoat UK Wind over the last 12 years. Alongside Laurence Fumagalli and, more recently, Matt Ridley, he created the first renewable infrastructure fund and has grown it into one of UK's largest wind farm owners whilst delivering strong returns for shareholders, including £1.2bn of dividends and over £900m reinvested in the portfolio. Stephen leaves the Company well placed to capitalise on its leading position.

"We are delighted to appoint Steve Packwood, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in the renewable energy industry which will be invaluable for Greencoat UK Wind. As a Board we look forward to working with Steve and Matt to continue driving the business forward and delivering for our stakeholders."
