Lithex Resources Limited (ASX:LTX) is pleased to present its first Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending 30 June 2011.

Lithex commenced trading on the ASX on 17 May 2011 following the completion of a very successful Initial Public Offer raising $4.0M before costs. The Initial Public Offer was heavily oversubscribed and well supported by the company’s lead manager and team of corporate advisors.

Lithex’s projects are located in the East Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia and total approximately 775km2 in area, see Figure 1

Moolyella – Stage 1 Exploration Program

The Moolyella Project is located approximately 23 Kilometers east-north-east of the township of Marble Bar and is accessible by sealed road.

The Moolyella Project consists of granted Exploration Licenses E45/3424 and E45/3172 (90%) along with Mining Lease Application M45/1081 (90%), Exploration License Application E45/3873 (100%) and Prospecting Licenses P45/2813, P45/2814 and P45/2815 (100%).

Following listing on the ASX, Lithex moved to appoint the highly regarded and experienced professional technical consultants; Terra Search Pty Ltd and Nagrom Laboratories.

Early preliminary work has already commenced at the Moolyella Project, including:

  • compilation and plotting of the historical production and geological data on the un-mined leads

  • mapping, field referencing drill holes and exploration data

  • initial evaluation of tailing dumps and stockpiles

  • mapping and confirmation of hard-rock targets

Initial exploration has identified large volumes of material which shows the presence of mineralisation in panned concentrates and a number of hard rock drill targets which are illustrated in Figures 2 and 3 below.

In line with the company’s strategy of increasing its tenement portfolio, Lithex has made a number of tenement applications during the Quarter.

An application for an Exploration License, E45/3873 has been made, as well as applications for Prospecting Licenses P45/2813, P45/2814 and P45/2815. These areas are all adjacent to the company’s Moolyella Project.
