Amberg, July 22, 2010 - GRAMMER AG, automotive supplier and seating systems
manufacturer has published preliminary results for the first half-year of
2010. Based on a positive market development and increased export
activities of German automakers, GRAMMER revenue could be increased by 30.1
percent to EUR 444.5 million (1-6 2009: 341.7) in the first six months of
2010. Both divisions benefited from the positive order situation in the
first half-year of 2010. The Automotive division achieved revenues of EUR
295.9 million (1-6 2009: 221.5) which represents an increase of 33.6
percent. Revenues of the Seating Systems division also increased
significantly by 26.8 percent to EUR 159.6 million (1-6 2009: 125.9).
Due to the positive sales development and the improved cost structure after
the restructuring measures in the last year, GRAMMER Group generated a
result before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR +15.0 million (1-6 2009:
-19,4) in the first half-year of 2010. This represents an improvement in
earnings of almost EUR 35 million compared to the corresponding period in
2009.
Based on the positive development in the first six months of 2010 and the
expectations for the second half-year, GRAMMER now projects for the full
year 2010 an increase in revenues of approximately 10 percent to
approximately EUR 800 million and an EBIT-margin of around 3 percent,
subject to a stable market and currency development.
