Update on GPT Wholesale Office Fund agreement to acquire up to four office assets for $679M
On 6 January 2014 GPT Wholesale Office Fund (GWOF) entered into a binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with DEXUS and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) (together the Consortium) in relation to the acquisition of up to four high quality office assets for $679 million.
In line with the MOU and with the Consortium having reached 100 per cent ownership of the Commonwealth Property Office Fund (CPA), GWOF has exercised its call options to acquire the following CPA assets:

750 Collins Street, Melbourne;

50 per cent of 2 Southbank Boulevard, Melbourne;

50 per cent of 10 Shelley Street, Sydney; and
-
655 Collins Street, Melbourne.
Management expects settlement on 750 Collins Street, Melbourne and settlement on 655 Collins Street, Melbourne to occur within the next four weeks. 2 Southbank Boulevard and 10 Shelley Street are subject to pre-emptive rights processes.
On 27 March 2014, GPT Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund exchanged contracts to acquire CPPIB’s 50 per cent ownership of Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne for $496 million. The acquisition is due to settle on 30 April 2014.
