TRADING HALT

The securities of GPT Group (the “Group”) will be placed in pre-open at the request of the Group, pending the release of an announcement by the Group. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Friday, 24 October 2008 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Re: Request for Trading Halt

I request a trading halt in the stapled securities of GPT Group ( GPT ) (ASX Code: GPT) from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 22 October 2008.

The trading halt is requested as a result of an article in today's Australian Financial Review regarding a potential capital raising by GPT.

GPT requests that the trading halt remain in place until it is in a position to make a further announcement to the market in response to that article.

For the purposes of Listing Rule 17.1, GPT provides the following information:

1. the trading halt is necessary as otherwise trading in GPT stapled securities would continue on an uninformed basis;

2. GPT requests that the trading halt remain in place until the opening of trading on Friday 24 October 2008, unless GPT requests that the trading halt be lifted before that time;

3. GPT is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
