GPT Announces Further Board Renewal

The GPT Group today announced further steps in the process of Board renewal that the Group has been undertaking over the last year.

The Board has appointed Dr Eileen Doyle as a Director with effect from 1 March 2010. Dr Doyle’s appointment is subject to ratification by investors at the Annual General Meeting later this year.

Ian Martin has indicated that he will not be standing for re-election at the Annual General Meeting and accordingly will retire at the end of that meeting. Ian was appointed to the Board in 2005 and is the Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Dr Ken Moss, Chairman of the GPT Group said he was pleased the Group had been able to attract a Director of Dr Doyle’s calibre and experience to join the Board. Dr Doyle’s career to date has provided her with over two decades of diverse business experience. She has held senior executive roles in the steel, water and waste water and timber industries. Dr Doyle’s nonexecutive director roles have covered a wide range of industries, including research, financial services, building and construction, steel, mining, logistics and export.

Dr Doyle’s current directorships include One Steel Limited, Steel & Tube Limited, Hunter Valley Research Foundation, CSIRO and Ross Human Directions Limited.

Dr Doyle holds tertiary qualifications in mathematics, applied statistics (PhD) and business administration. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
