CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS TO SHAREHOLDERS AT 2007 AGM
I have pleasure in welcoming shareholders and visitors to this the 12[th] annual general meeting of Golden Cross Resources Ltd.
A year ago, the Company was buoyed by the successes and apparent prospects at Copper Hill. The Company had just completed a significant capital raising and was concentrating its efforts and expenditures on defining the Copper Hill opportunity.
While we continue to hold the view that Copper Hill has real value for the Company, over the past year we have seen the need to diversify our focus away not only from Copper Hill, but also from our core area of exploration, New South Wales. So we now have exploration interests in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia within Australia and in Panama and Labrador in Canada.
The Managing Director, Kim Stanton-Cook will give a presentation on the key operational aspects of the company’s activities. His presentation is similar to one he gave at the recent Excellence in Mining & Exploration conference in Sydney. This presentation and the September quarterly, which presents a current view of our exploration activities and short term plans, can be viewed on the GCR website.
The company is well positioned for an exciting year ahead. We have some excellent exploration properties and an active drilling program over coming months. We face significant challenges, but the board and management remain clearly focussed on the goal of building sustainable increased value in the Company’s shares.
