Global Interconnection Group Board Change
Global Interconnection Group ("GIG" or the "Company") today announces that Richard Johnson has resigned from the Boards of GIG Limited (Guernsey) and GIG SA (Switzerland) with effect from 10 October 2025 and will assume a new role as Operating Partner.
During his tenure at GIG, Richard played a pivotal role in shaping the Group's growth strategy and expanding its global infrastructure platform. He was instrumental in the formation of GIGA-42 Holdings Limited and contributed to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Nordurping Municipality in Iceland to develop a large-scale, AI-optimised hyperscale data centre at Bakki, Húsavík.
Richard has recently assumed a new position as Operating Partner at GIG Management Ltd, where he will focus his attention on advancing the joint venture's data-centre development pipeline across the Nordics and Europe. In light of this expanded commitment, and to avoid any potential conflicts of interest, Richard has elected to step down from the Boards of GIG Limited and GIG SA to dedicate his time fully to this new role.
Richard commented:
"It has been a privilege to serve on the Boards of GIG Limited and GIG SA and to have contributed to the establishment of GIGA-42 and its early successes. With exciting milestones ahead for GIGA-42, including the Bakki AI-optimised data centre in Iceland, I look forward to supporting the next phase of growth in my new role as Operating Partner."
The Board wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Richard for his extensive contribution, strategic insight, and leadership during his time with the Group, and wishes him every success in his continued collaboration through GIG Management Ltd.
