ARQUES takes over SAG Austria Group

• Third acquisition by ARQUES Austria in the current financial year
• High synergy potential through cooperation with ARQUES subsidiary, BEA

Starnberg, July 4, 2007 - ARQUES Austria, a subsidiary of the
Starnberg-based equity investment company, ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN
DE0005156004), has taken over all shares in the SAG Austria Group, a
supplier and service provider for electronic equipment technology and
infrastructure service with its headquarters in Vienna. The seller is SAG
GmbH (Langen, Germany) which is to concentrate on its core business in the
future. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The
transaction is subject to the approval of the relevant cartel authorities.

The SAG Austria Group is a leading supplier and service provider for
electronic equipment technology and infrastructure service in Austria. The
acquired divisions generated revenues to the value of about EUR 35 million
on a profitable basis with approximately 170 employees in the past
financial year. Within the context of the transaction, ARQUES also acquired
attractively situated real estate in the southwest of Vienna. The
traditional Austrian company is a longstanding and recognised partner of
power suppliers, industrial enterprises and municipal clients. Besides
Austria, SAG Austria is also increasingly active in selected eastern
European growth markets.

By means of the planned co-operation between the SAG Austria Group and BEA
Technische Dienste Lausitz (Brandenburg) which was already taken over in
November 2006, substantial synergy potential exists which is to be realised
promptly. Both SAG Austria and BEA TDL are active in the energy management
as well as the automation segments and are to work together closely in
these fields in the future. Subsidiary manager, Oliver Apelt, also managing
director of BEA TDL, is to be appointed managing director of SAG Austria.

The acquisition of SAG Austria is already the third ARQUES Austria
transaction. The Austrian company which was founded last year within the
context of the internationalisation of the ARQUES business model, took over
the Austrian textile chain Schöps in April 2007 and the Rohé Group last
week.

With the takeover of the SAG Austria Group, the ninth transaction by the
ARQUES group, ARQUES has already acquired companies with a sales volume
totalling approximately EUR 450 million in the current financial year.
