ARQUES successfully completes takeover of Actebis
• Annualised group revenues at EUR 4 billion
• Actebis: Business development exceeds plans

Starnberg, October 2, 2007 - The Starnberg-based equity investment company,
ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004), has successfully completed the
takeover of the IT distributor, Actebis, Soest. After the authorisation of
the transaction by the European cartel authorities, the contract was closed
with effect September 28, 2007. Thus the first-time consolidation of the
Actebis group within ARQUES takes place in the third quarter.

The local companies of the IT distributor, Actebis, in Germany, France,
Austria and the Netherlands which were taken over from the Otto Group,
generated revenues of approximately EUR 2.5 billion in 2006. Actebis ranks
third in IT wholesale in Central Europe and sells information technology
products, mobility and consumer electronics. The course of business of the
group of companies at which capital market structures are presently being
installed, is developing substantially better than budgeted.

'The IT distributor, Actebis, is set up outstandingly; this applies both to
the positioning on the market as well as to the personnel and operational
structure. This is evident from the current business development which
substantially exceeds plans', said Markus Zöllner, ARQUES chief operations
officer.

Actebis Manager Klaus Hellmich will become the new CEO of the company. The
management team will be completed by Dr. Ralf Retzko as CFO, as well as
Bärbel Schmidt and Ivan Renaudin who will manage the various local
companies of the Actebis Group.

Otto Group.

With the acquisitions, the largest in the company history of ARQUES
Industries AG, ARQUES has taken over companies with a sales volume of
substantially more than EUR 3 billion in the current financial year. The
annualised ARQUES group revenues currently stand at EUR 4 billion.
