ARQUES Industries AG takes over Jahnel-Kestermann Getriebewerke GmbH & Co. KG

KG Third acquisition within days successfully completed Starnberg April 12, 2005 – The Starnberg-based holding company ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004) has acquired 89% of the shares in Jahnel- Kestermann Getriebewerke GmbH & Co. KG (Bochum, Germany) with immediate effect. For the time being the other shares remain with the owner family. The enterprise is one of the world-wide leading manufacturers and developers of specialised high speed gears. The company with +/- 200 employees currently shows an annual turnover of approximately EUR 35 million. The gears are used in the energy, sugar and chocolate manufacturing industries as well as having a multitude of maritime applications. Close co-operation with scientific institutes has resulted in numerous innovations and patents. The enterprise was acquired according to the ARQUES business philosophy. ARQUES manager Heinrich Ollendiek will be appointed managing director. After the acquisition of Johler Druck GmbH, the SKS Stakusit group and Jahnel- Kestermann Getriebewerke GmbH & Co. KG, ARQUES has, within eight days, successfully acquired three companies with an operational gross income volume of more than EUR 100 million. They will contribute a “bargain purchase” to the value of over EUR 10 million to the results of the first half of fiscal year 2005.
