ARQUES shows significant restructuring successes at Gigaset subsidiary

The Munich-based equity investment company, ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN
DE0005156004), has shown successes faster than expected regarding the
restructuring of its largest subsidiary, Gigaset Communications GmbH.
According to provisional calculations, Gigaset managed to generate revenues
in the financial year 2009 almost reaching those of the previous year and
strongly improve earnings under economically difficult circumstances. The
adjusted operating results (EBITDA) at EUR 33 million are substantially
above the previous year's value of EUR -23 million. For the year 2010
Gigaset expects operating results of EUR 45 - 50 million.

The successful development of Gigaset, an important ARQUES Industries AG
subsidiary, will be reflected in the consolidated financial statements for
2009. The executive board however still expects negative earnings for the
financial year 2009.
