Elite Series Update

Gfinity's Elite Series Season One begins July 7th  

Gfinity plc, a leading esports promoter, provides an update on the Elite Series Season One which will take place at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London.

The Series will begin on Friday 7th July and will run every weekend until Sunday September 3rd. Fans will be able to view the competition on GfinityEsports.com

The nine week Elite Series Season One will feature eight professional teams and 160 players competing across Street Fighter V, CS:GO and Rocket League. The eight teams are: Team Infused, Excel eSports, Reason Gaming, Prophecy, Envy, Endpoint, Method and Epsilon esports and will represent some of the world's best gamers at the inaugural Elite Series championships.

In addition to the teams, Gfinity has also now announced the presenting talent that will feature in the broadcasts.  The show will be hosted by Tom Deacon, who is one of the hottest young stand-ups and presenters in the UK. He's been performing live comedy around the world and has fronted his own TV, radio and online shows on BBC 2 and BBC Radio 1.

Co-hosts for the broadcasts will be Radio 1 DJ Yasmin Evans and ITV presenter Arielle Free. Tom, Yasmin and Arielle will be supported by a range of the UK's top analysts and commentators for each of the respective game titles.

The Series will be made up of three independent leagues with a league for each game. After each team has competed, the top four will progress to the league's playoff which will feature two semi-finals with the winners finally competing for their share of the £225,000 prize money.

In addition to the three independent leagues for each game, Gfinity will also be running a franchise championship for the overall winners across the entire tournament.
