Eurotunnel wins two categories at National Coach Awards "Cross Sea Carrier of the Year" and "Coach Tourism Green Award"
Eurotunnel Le Shuttle was awarded as best coach transporter at the National Coach Awards 2014. More than 450 coach industry professionals attended the prestigious ceremony in Blackpool on Thursday 15 May.
During the ceremony at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, the leading coach and tourism magazine, Coach Monthly, designated Eurotunnel Le Shuttle winner of two awards. Eurotunnel Le Shuttle was recognized as " Cross Sea Carrier of the Year ", ahead of Condor Ferries, DFDS Seaways and P&O Ferries, and also for first prize in the " Coach Tourism Green Award " sector.
These two awards, judged by the coach operators themselves, are recognition of Eurotunnel Le Shuttle's commitment to providing an environmentally friendly transport service and are testament to the strong performance of the company during what was a record year: over 64,000 coaches carried in 2013 (+9%), in addition to 2.4 million cars.
With a crossing time of just 35 minutes, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle provides up to five departures per hour in each direction at peak times.
Eurotunnel's Commercial Director, Jo Willacy, said: "Eurotunnel Le Shuttle is very proud to have been recognized by the coach operators in these two categories.
