New Executive Vice President of Extended Care business area

Alex Meyers, 46, has been appointed new Executive Vice President of the Extended Care business area within the Getinge Group.

Alex Meyers, who has a degree from Yale University in the US, has a very solid and successful career that includes senior management positions with Unilever, Orkla and Carlsberg. Most recently, he held the position as Senior Vice President within the Carlsberg Group and was responsible for Western Europe, an organisation with sales of slightly more than EUR 3 billion and some 11,000 employees. Alex has been a member of Carlsbergs group management since 2001. Alex Meyers will assume his new position in mid−September.

Some time ago, Michael Berg, who has served as Executive Vice President of the Extended Care business area since 2005, asked to resign in consultation with the company from his position as head of the business area due to changes in his family situation. Michael Berg led the Extended Care business area during a very expansive and eventful period in which the business area implemented an extensive structural program and more than doubled its size in terms of sales from SEK 3 billion to nearly SEK 7 billion.
