TRADING HALT
The securities of Geopacific Resources NL (the “Company”) will be placed in pre-open at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 23 June 2010 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Request for Trading Halt in Geopacific Resources NL Securities
The Company requests a trading halt in its securities (GPR).
The Company is in the process of raising funds through a share placement. While these discussions and transactions are proceeding, the Company believes that, in the absence of a trading halt, the market may trade on an uninformed basis.
It is expected that an announcement to end the trading halt will be made before the market opens on Wednesday 23 June 2010.
The Company is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
