Resignation of Managing Director

Geopacific Resources Ltd ( Geopacific or the Company ; ASX: GPR) wishes to advise that Mr Ron Heeks is stepping down from his role as Managing Director & CEO effective immediately, he will continue in an advisory capacity for a 3 month period to allow for an appropriate transition to the new appointee. Mr Heeks advises the Board that it was time for some fresh energy to carry the GPR and the Woodlark Island Gold Project forward.

On behalf of the Board, the Chairman Mr Ian Clyne stated:

“Ron is a very capable geologist with many years mining experience, he has been instrumental in the identification of the Woodlark Gold Project for Geopacific, and all of its positive developments to date. The Board of Directors wish to publicly acknowledge and thank Ron for his extremely valuable contribution to the Company. We wish Ron every success for his future endeavours”

The Geopacific Board remains fully committed to delivering a successful Gold Project on Woodlark Island in Papua New Guinea.

Geopacific will immediately commence an executive search process to identify an experienced Senior Executive with the desired skill sets and proven track record appropriate to leading our near term exploration, development, construction & production objectives on Woodlark Island, and our executive support team in Perth.

The Board’s priority is to work with Management, as appropriate, to ensure that Geopacific has all the resources necessary to safely and successfully deliver a de-risked, viable project, which delivers a successful outcome for the benefit of all stakeholders – shareholders, employees, local residents of Woodlark Island, and for Papua New Guinea.

During the transition period of appointing a new Managing Director, the current Chairman Mr Ian Clyne will assume day to day management of the Company on an interim basis.
