NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RETIREMENT

Genus plc (LSE: GNS), a leading global animal genetics company, announces that Mike Buzzacott, Non-Executive Director, has indicated his wish to retire from the Board of Genus at this year's Annual General Meeting, after more than seven years as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee.  Lysanne Gray, Non-Executive Director, will succeed Mike Buzzacott as Chair of the Committee.

Commenting on the retirement, Bob Lawson, Chairman of Genus, said:

"On behalf of the Board I want to acknowledge Mike's significant contribution during this time particularly in transforming the Committee into an effective value adding resource, whilst developing and embedding our risk management processes.
