Genmin appoints Chief Financial Officer

African iron ore explorer and developer, Genmin Limited ( Genmin or Company ) (ASX: GEN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Zaiqian Zhang as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

Mr Zhang is an experienced finance professional, fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese with over 10 years’ experience in the mining industry. He previously held Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer roles at Focus Minerals Ltd (ASX: FML).

Mr Zhang is a Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Chartered Secretary with the Governance Institute of Australia. He has a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance and an honour’s degree in Accounting for Management from Aston University in Birmingham, UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Genmin’s Managing Director, Mr Joe Ariti said:

“We are pleased to have successfully identified and appointed a CFO of the quality of Zaiqian so soon after listing and in accordance with the timeline set out during the IPO.”

“With the Company’s assets in Gabon and expected connections with Chinese groups sourcing iron ore supply in Africa, the Board believes it is tactically important to bring Chinese cultural and language skills into the organisation at a senior level.”
