HIGHLIGHTS

Plavica Au-Ag-Cu Project

Genesis Resources Limited has been successful in intersecting high grade gold (silver) mineralisation from its drilling program at the Plavica Prospect in the Republic of Macedonia. The best intersections were encountered in the diamond drill hole DDP006 as follows:

  • DDP006 205.0-208.0m: 3m @ 26.4 g/t Au, 25.0 g/t Ag, 0.14% Cu =27.12 g/t AuEq

  • DDP006 214.0-216.0m: 2m @ 50.1 g/t Au, 75.5 g/t Ag, 0.33% Cu =52.14 g/t AuEq

  • - DDP006 218.0-219.0m: 1m @ 9.7 g/t Au, 69.0 g/t Ag, 1.16% Cu = 13.01 g/t AuEq

Analyses at 1m intervals of all the 2012-vintage diamond and reverse circulation (RC) holes have now been received from SGS Laboratory, Ankara, and other significant intervals are as follows:

  • DDP006 190.0-191.0m: 1m @ 8.36 g/t Au, 24.0 g/t Ag, 0.09% Cu = 8.99 g/t AuEq

  • - DDP006 195.0-197.0m: 2m @ 4.31 g/t Au, 4.0 g/t Ag, 0.03%Cu = 4.44 g/t AuEq

  • - RP007 162.0-163.0m: 1m @ 1.02 g/t Au, 238.0 g/t Ag, 3.0% Cu = 10.58 g/t AuEq

  • - RP007 182.0-183.0m: 1m @ 1.77 g/t Au, 189.0 g/t Ag, 2.49 % Cu = 9.53 g/t AuEq

  • - RP009A 201.0-207.0m: 6m @ 2.85 g/t Au, 73.5 g/t Ag, 1.92% Cu = 7.39 g/t Au Eq

  • - RP009A 245.0-246.0m: 1m @ 2.19g/t Au, 257.0 g/t Ag, 0.95% Cu = 8.84 g/t AuEq

  • - RP010 137.0-139.0m: 2m @ 1.50 g.t Au, 23.5 g/t Ag, 2.18% Cu = 5.45 g/t AuEq

  • - RP010 173.0-174.0m: 1m @ 1.57 g/t Au, 21.0 g/t Ag, 2.74% Cu = 6.37 g/t AuEq

  • - RP011A 170.0-172.0m: 2m @ 2.65 g/t Au, 20.5 g/t Ag, 1.95% Cu =6.17 g/t AuEq

  • - RP014A 115.0-116.0m: 1m @ 7.32 g/t Au, 55.0 g/t Ag, 0.08% Cu = 8.54 g/t AuEq

  • - RP015 32.00-33.00m: 1m @ 2.21 g/t Au, 97.0 g/t Ag, 0.03% Cu = 4.19 g/t AuEq

  • - RP017 27.00-28.00m: 1m @ 6.94 g/t Au, 39.0 g/t Ag, 0.03% Cu = 7.76 g/t AuEq

Location of the Plavica Prospect is given in Figure 1 and the locations of the 2012 drill holes are shown in Figure 2. Table 1 provides details of the drill hole coordinates, azimuths, inclinations and depths. More complete details of drill hole intersections are provided below.

Gladstone-Mount Miller Mn Project

  • Mount Miller Mining Lease (EA MIN201115110): Agreement was reached and signed with both Queensland Main Roads and Queensland National Railways. The Board has decided to activate them while waiting for the granting of an exemption from Urban Restricted zoning around Gladstone. Once it has been approved, the Board plans to carry out the planned diamond drilling program.

EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS DURING THE QUARTER

Republic of Macedonia

Plavica Gold-Copper-Silver Project (Figure 1)

During the December quarter of 2012 23 Reverse Circulation (RC) and 3 Diamond Drill holes were drilled for totals of 4,695m of RC and 936m of diamond respectively. Drill hole locations are shown in Figure 2 whilst Table 1 provides details of drill hole coordinates, azimuths, inclinations and depths. Drilling commenced in the latter part of October and was terminated in mid-December with the onset of winter snow.

During the March quarter of 2013 1 metre samples from all the diamond drill and RC holes were despatched to the SGS Ankara laboratory for fire assay of gold content and ICP-OES analysis of silver, copper, lead, zinc and arsenic as well as 29 other elements. Analytical results from all these samples have now been received and the results are tabulated in Tables 2 to 5 below as follows:

  • -Table 2: Diamond drill holes – intersections >1g/t Au

  • -Table3: RC drill holes – intersections >1g/t Au

  • -Table 4: Diamond drill holes- intersections >0.1 g/t Au

  • -Table 5: RC drill holes – intersections >0.1 g/t Au

For Au equivalents: 5 g/t Ag = 0.1 g/t Au and 0.1% Cu = 0.16 g/t Au

The formula for Au ppm (g/t) equiv. =Au +(Agppm x0.02) + (Cuppm x 0.0016)

CORPORATE

Appointment of New Director

On 26 March 2013 the Company appointed Mr Kim Heng Lim as a Non-Executive Director of the Board.

Mr Lim is associated with the Company’s largest shareholder, S Active Holding Sdn Bhd, which holds 22,117,930 ordinary shares in the Company.

Capital raising

In January 2013, the Company sought and received shareholder approval for the issue of up to 50,000,000 shares under a placement facility (Proposed Placement Facility). At the time that approval was sought from shareholders, the Directors had not made a determination as to whether it would issue shares under the Proposed Placement Facility; but elected to seek prior approval regardless given the recent challenging environment for capital raising and in anticipation that ongoing funding of the Company’s projects would be required.

The Company did not utilise (and accordingly no shares were issued under) the Proposed Placement Facility, which lapsed on 16 April 2013 in accordance with the ASX Listing Rules.

Notes

  • 1 The quarterly report provides a basis for informing the market how the entity’s activities have been financed for the past quarter and the effect on its cash position. An entity wanting to disclose additional information is encouraged to do so, in a note or notes attached to this report.

  • 2 The “Nature of interest” (items 6.1 and 6.2) includes options in respect of interests in mining tenements acquired, exercised or lapsed during the reporting period. If the entity is involved in a joint venture agreement and there are conditions precedent which will change its percentage interest in a mining tenement, it should disclose the change of percentage interest and conditions precedent in the list required for items 6.1 and 6.2.

  • 3 Issued and quoted securities The issue price and amount paid up is not required in items 7.1 and 7.3 for fully paid securities .

  • 4 The definitions in, and provisions of, AASB 1022: Accounting for Extractive Industries and AASB 1026: Statement of Cash Flows apply to this report.

  • 5 Accounting Standards ASX will accept, for example, the use of International Accounting Standards for foreign entities. If the standards used do not address a topic, the Australian standard on that topic (if any) must be complied with.
