Plavica Project (North Macedonia) Porphyry Potential

  • Potential at depth for a Porphyry Cu-Au - Mo system. Many High-Sulphidation Epithermal Systems sit above underlying Porphyry Systems eg Lepanto / Far SE, Tujuh Bukit and Bor.

  • Higher temperature chalcopyrite and magnetite veins have been observed at Plavica at depth suggesting a fluid of porphyry origin.

  • Porphyry indicator / pathfinder elements such as Mo, Bi, Sn, W and Se are all elevated at Plavica.

  • Fluid Inclusion Homogenisation Temp at 400m depth of 420[0] C cf 200-330[0] C for high-sulphidation part.

Genesis Resources. Conclusions and further work required

  • ❖ The completion and reporting of the ongoing environmental studies is the last required submission for the Application of Mining Approval at Plavica. GES has also submitted the notification of intention to implement a ‘project’ at Plavica.

  • ❖ Despite the small amount of drilling completed at both Arltunga and Alice Springs, both initial RC programs have returned promising intercepts. Further work is now required in evaluating other prospects on these tenements before follow up drilling. These include Camp Hill at Alice springs which has Cu grades of 15% in rock chips and multiple prospects at Arltunga that have +20 g/t Au in rock chips.

  • ❖ The zones at Round Hill at Arltunga and Diana 8 at Alice Springs are both open along strike and down dip and require follow up drilling.

  • ❖ Pegmatites have been described in old reports on both these Central Australian tenements and these should be investigated for lithium potential.

  • ❖ Follow up reconnaissance mapping should be undertaken around the newly discovered high grade manganese occurrences at McArthur River.

  • ❖ A number of targets should be drilled at Pioneer in SE Qld particularly within a quartzfeldspar porphyry that intrudes the main diorite. This Intrusion Related Gold System (IRGS) similar to Ravenswood, has a number of old shafts and workings with multiple rocks over 20 g/t Au. Previous drilling by the Qld Govt (5 holes on only one target) in the 1970’s returned 1.8m @ 4,01 g/t Au.

  • ❖ There is excellent potential for an underlying Cu-Au-Mo Porphyry deposit at Plavica. Geophysics such as IP targeting deeper areas could be undertaken to help define targets prior to drilling.
