Appointment of Chief Operating Officer

Genel Energy ('Genel') is pleased to announce that Paul Schofield has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer.

Paul has thirty five years' management and technical experience encompassing all aspects of the upstream oil and gas business. He started his petroleum engineering career at Shell in 1981, subsequently working with Enterprise Oil, Tuscan Energy and Hess.

Paul joined Hess in 2006, holding a number of senior roles. Immediately prior to joining Genel, Paul was the most senior Hess representative in the management team for the Carigali Hess Operating Company, a significant Malaysian joint venture company operating in the Malaysia Thailand Joint Development Area.
