Bochum/Budapest, October 13, 2009 - GEA has won orders for a Heller
Indirect Dry Cooling system from Russia and for new high concentration ash
slurry system from Romania. The total amount is about EUR 40 million.

The Russian order comprises the design, supply and erection supervision of
a Heller Indirect Dry Cooling system for a 120 MW Combined Cycle power
plant. The power plant will supply power to a new gas chemical complex in
the Novij Urengoj region in the North Eastern part of Russia. The cooling
system will be able to operate under harsh Siberian winter conditions
reaching temperatures of minus 58 C. 'The application of a Heller system
under these extreme environmental conditions proofs the unique adaptability
of our system to individual local site conditions. In addition it combines
this flexibility with the advantages of a resource saving closed cycle
cooling system', says Jürg Oleas, CEO of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft.

In Romania, GEA will deliver a new high concentration ash slurry system for
the 7 x 330 MW Turceani coal fired power plant. The ash slurry system is
part of an initiative to extend the plant's service life as well achieve
its environmental compliance. The GEA Circumix dense slurry system will
help the power plant to dispose the power plant ash in an environmentally
friendly way and to safe water in this process at the same time. The new
order is the sixth in a row order for high concentration ash slurry systems
in Romania received by GEA. GEA has already delivered similar systems to
power plants in the United States and in Hungary.
