Bochum, December 17, 2008 – The Thermal Engineering Division of GEA Group
Aktiengesellschaft has received an order for a Heller® indirect dry cooling
system for a Chinese power plant. The order volume is approximately EUR 20
million.

This order will be the first for GEA EGI´s new manufacturing site in
Wuqing/China, which will start operations in May 2009. The required
components for the Heller® system will be manufactured between mid 2009 and
mid 2010. Other components for this indirect dry cooling system will be
manufactured in Jászberény/Hungary. The Heller® cooling technology was
developed by a GEA subsidiary, EGI in Hungary, and is used globally,
especially in dry regions of the world. The advantages of indirect dry
cooling are the combination of a natural draft cooling tower with a closed
circle cooling system that does not consume water. Thus, the system
combines the careful management of resources with increased efficiency of
the power plant.
