GROUP Technologies AG: Secure e-mail communication in the power and water
management industry with consideration of EDIFACT
Eisenach, 24 January 2007 – Full-coverage electronic data exchange between
market participants within the sectors of power and water management
industries is controlled by regulations which have clear requirements for
secure e-mail communication. For this reason Schleupen AG and its
subsidiary S4P solutions for partners ag decided to use GROUP Technologies’
e-mail management solution.
Through the bundled business sector know-how, the coordination of the
Schleupen.CS solution with the GROUP solution in future will make the
secure data exchange per e-mail for over 300 energy providers possible
across Germany. The focus is on the secure transmission of information
which is in EDIFACT format. The legislator determined that the decisive
criterion is the encryption of the EDI mails within the framework of data
security. From the customer’s point of view, the deciding factor is
therefore the integration of this requirement with additional e-mail
management modules to provide for a continuous communication process at all
times.
'The tight meshing of business processes and e-mail communication with the
market partners is extremely complex. An integrated solution focussing on
the continuous processing of all areas of e-mail communication is therefore
significant for a legally-compliant process. S4P will satisfy this specific
requirement through the combination of the GROUP solution with the
Schleupen.CS software. This begins with en/decryption and goes via virus

of market communication, from the exchange of user data to change of
