Work Completed

 2[nd] SAM geophysical survey

  • Data interpretation and drill targeting

  • RC drilling over a number of prospects:

  • Rosie Northeast – 3 x 200m holes testing coincident geophsical and geochemical anomalies

  • Whistler – 2 x 200m RC holes testing for repeats and extensions of the current 24,800oz JORC-compliant resource under the Whistler pit

  • Montague – Boulder – 3 x 200m holes to test targets underneath the open pit

  • This drilling has been completed, and results are awaited

Results

  • As reported previously, results from previous drilling are very encouraging, including 22m @ 14.95g/t gold from an existing resource under the Whistler pit, and significant intersections in an interpreted hanging wall shoot

  • The drilling resulted in other encouraging intersections, including 102m @ 0.42g/t Au in hole WRC012 at Rosie Northeast, and Gateway believes there is the potential for significant sulphide gold resources in the Airport area

  • Results of the SAM surveying highlight the structural features of the area, with structure being an important control of mineralisation

  • Results of 2010 RC drilling yet to be received

Overview

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • A copper discovery by Gateway, initially intersected in aircore drilling

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • Follow up RC drilling has intersected significant copper, including 17m @ 1.53% Cu in hole GRC183, and 26m @ 1.45% Cu in hole GRC200

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • Intersected over a strike length of 350m to date, and open to the north, south, and down dip to the west

  • The prospect now needs significant RC and diamond drilling to determine the limits and style of mineralisation

Geology

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • May include a number of shallowly westward dipping zones

  • These appear to be at the contact between underlying volcanics to the east, and overlying carbonaceous and non-carbonaceous sediments to the west

  • Mineralisation dominated by chalcocite, a secondary copper sulphide, which can be extracted by simple leaching

  • The prospect now needs significant RC and diamond drilling, to determine the limits and style of mineralisation

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • Located on the same structural/stratigraphic zone as Julia’s Fault, with the zone marked by variable Au, As and Cu anomalism

  • Anomalous As and Cu associated with gossanous material and pyrite in drillholes 2 and 2.5 km south

Overview

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • A virgin gold discovery by Gateway, originally intersected in RC follow up of RAB anomalies

  • Follow up RC drilling during 2007/2008 confirmed the results of earlier RC drilling

  • Aircore drilling during 2009 returned significant intersections, including 5m @ 3.47g/t Au in hole GAC004, and 10m @ 0.92g/t Au in GAC001(EOH)

  • Drilling problems resulted in a number of holes not penetrating the gossans

  • Gold has been intersected in widely spaced holes over a strike length of 950m to date, and a number of holes have been terminated in mineralisation due to drilling difficulties

  • Located NNE of The Cup, and possibly on the same structural zone

  • Three holes for ~400m drilled November 2010 – results awaited

Overview

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • Bungarra West JV with Legend Mining over E57/709 now terminated – tenement to revert 100% to Gateway

  • Gateway has also purchased E57/706 from Legend as part of this agreement

  • 100% GML tenements immediately to the south of the JV tenement

  • EM surveying over the area has delineated a number of anomalies

  • Rock chip sampling of gossanous/ironstone material has returned up to 377ppb Au

  • Modelling of the southernmost anomaly within the JV tenement indicated three moderate to strong conductors, with depths ranging from 30-100m

  • Drilling subsequent to years end included three RC holes on the JV tenements and one on 100% GML tenement P57/1181

  • Although intersecting significant sulphides (which explain the EM anomaly) these did not intersect appreciable mineralisation

  • The results of this work will be reviewed to plan future exploration activities

Overview
 Exploring for copper-gold in the
Molong Volcanic Belt, host to the 30
million oz Newcrest Cadia/Ridgeway
operations.
 The Cowra Tenements are the least
explored area in the Belt. These
contain large complex intrusives with
associated skarn development along
the edges of the parent granite.
 Previously reported drilling has
intersected skarn-style alteration,
with associated elevated copper and
gold, including intersections of 4m @
5g/t Au and 30m @ 0.6% Cu

Overview

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • The Eastern Succession contains a number of significant Cu & CuAu deposits, including Ernest Henry

  • The Surprise Project reverted to 100% Gateway ownership following the withdrawal of Minotaur from a JV in 2008

  • Minotaur initially carried out gravity and IP surveys

  • A six hole RC drilling programme completed in 2008, targeting IP geophysical anomalies, intersected anomalous copper, including 4m @ 0.86%

  • Deeper gravity anomalies are yet to be drill tested

  • An EM survey carried out after the drilling has also delineated a number of targets, which are as yet untested

Current activities

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

==> picture [721 x 18] intentionally omitted <==

  • Gateway has since been offered, and accepted a third licence, EPM17870 “Centipede”, adjacent to the current EPM’s 9053 & 13677. This is currently in the Native Title negotiation process

  • Gateway is currently reviewing all exploration data, with a view to planning further exploration programmes

==> picture [721 x 17] intentionally omitted <==

  • Gateway is seeking a JV partner to fund ongoing work at Surprise, however as all ML’s are currently in the renewal process any agreement any agreement would be contingent on the leases being granted
