The G.A.P. Vassilopoulos Group of companies, which represents Western Union in Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Israel, has signed an agreement for the general representation of Western Union in Germany and Ireland. Western Union, founded in 1851, is the largest electronic money transfer service provider in the world, with a network of over 500,000 selling points in more than 200 countries.
The business plan provides for the development of a network of 2,000 selling points across Germany and 300 selling points across Ireland. The Group's goal is to develop a network with a total of more than 5,000 selling points in the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Israel and Cyprus. The above development is expected to increase the Group's turnover and lead to a positive future impact on its profitability.
