ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

Appointment of Managing Director of Europe 30 January 2006

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Frank Albertsmeier to the position of Managing Director – Gale Europe. Mr Albertsmeier is expected to join the Company at the end of March 2006, and will be responsible for both Gale Europe (Coolaroo) and Jung Garten & Freizeit. These roles were previously carried out respectively by the Group Managing Director, Mr. Gary Gale and Mr Elmar Jung, Mr. Albertsmeier will report directly the Group Managing Director, Gary Gale.

Prior to joining Gale, Mr. Albertsmeier has had a successful career in the D.I.Y industry in Europe with Black & Decker and ICI/Dulux, and has a great deal of experience in the seasonal home improvement business that he now brings to Gale.

Group Managing Director, Gary Gale said: "The current financial year is the Company's second year in Europe and, as previously announced, our strategy is to:

• $1.$ expand the business geographically from central Europe into the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean, where our most important targets are France, Spain and Italy;
• $2.$ establish relationships with the major retailers in these areas; and
• $3.$ expand the range of products being sold to our existing customers in Europe as well as initiating new business with a variety of new D.I.Y. retailers in Europe.

We have significant opportunities in the European Market, with many of our new and existing customers having increased their purchasing commitment for next season, resulting in orders from approximately 750 stores across Europe. Mr Albertsmeier's previous experience sets Gale up well for a coordinated expansion through the whole region."

Mr Gale added: "This appointment and the more recent appointments of Mr Peter McDonald as MD USA and Steve Carroll as MD Australia completes the plan to have well seasoned and experienced Senior Managers in all our regions of operation. We look forward to the successful execution of our growth plans by this now highly focused team."
