Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

G8 Education Limited is pleased to advise the appointment of Karenlee Lacey as Chief Executive Officer of G8 Education Limited with effect from October 2012.

Karenlee Lacey is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with more than 15 years experience in senior executive positions. Most recently, Karenlee was Chief Executive Officer of Queensland’s Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, one of Queensland’s most successful and high profile not-for-profit organisations that has a significant impact upon the health and well-being of children. Significantly, whilst in this role, she established a national alliance partnership with children’s hospitals in each state under the Children’s Hospitals Foundation Australia.

Karenlee Lacey has previously been the Director of Fundraising & Communication for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Director of Fundraising for the RSPCA and the Development Manager for the MS Society of Queensland, where she co-initiated the move to a national MS Society, including the development of national fundraising, marketing and communications activity. Karenlee Lacey joins Managing Director Chris Scott in a senior leadership role during this period of expansion.

Karenlee Lacey has been issued 400,000 options over ordinary shares in G8 Education as part of her remuneration exerciseable at $1.27 (being 111% of the recent placement price). 200,000 are exerciseable within 18 months of commencement and 200,000 are exerciseable between months 12 and 36.

G8 Education Limited chairperson, Jenny Hutson, in announcing the appointment of Karenlee Lacey, said: “As a Chief Executive Officer and business manager, her experience has successfully led teams through significant change management in periods of expansion this, coupled with her extensive experience within organisations that have significantly impacted the lives of children, will mean that her skills will complement those of the current team and assist position G8 Education to continue to be the pre-eminent child care provider in Australasia. We are delighted to have Karenlee Lacey joining G8 Education as CEO.”
