On January 4, 2012, BlackRock Inc., New York, USA has informed us according
to Article 21, Para. 1 of the German Securities Trade Act
(Wertpapierhandelsgesetz - WpHG) that it has exceeded the threshold of 5%
of the voting rights in Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA, Bad Homburg,
Germany, ISIN: DE0005785802, WKN: 578580, on December 22, 2011 and as of
that date holds 5.0048% of the voting rights (15,012,217 voting rights).
According to Article 22, Para. 1, Sentence 1, No. 6 in conjunction with
sentence 2 of the WpHG, these voting rights are altogether attributed to
BlackRock, Inc.
