Correction of the notification according to Article 21, Section 1 of the
WpHG [the German Securities Trading Act] from December 12, 2011 and the
release according to Article 26, Section 1 of the WpHG from December 13,
2011 with the objective of Europe-wide distribution

On January 9, 2012, BlackRock Inc., New York, USA has informed us according
to Article 21, Section 1 of the WpHG that via shares its voting rights on
Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA, Bad Homburg, Germany, ISIN:
DE0005785802, WKN: 578580, have fallen below the 5% limit of the voting
rights on December 2, 2011 and now amount to 4.99% (this corresponds to
14,983,226 voting rights). According to Article 22, Section 1, Sentence 1,
No. 6 of the WpHG in connection with sentence 2 of the WpHG, 4.99% of the
voting rights (this corresponds to 14,983,226 voting rights) is to be
attributed to BlackRock, Inc.
