Further update: Evans Cycles

Following the various press reports overnight regarding the purchase by Sports Direct International plc of the business of F.W. Evans Cycles (UK) Limited (in administration) (Evans Cycles), Sports Direct confirms that the consideration for the Evans Cycles business was £8,000,000, c£2,000,000 of which was paid to fund Evans Cycles' October payroll. Sports Direct also confirms its current expectation that at least 50% of the existing stores will remain open.

Sports Direct welcomes the Evans Cycles staff to the Sports Direct family and looks forward to building mutually beneficial long-lasting relationships with the key suppliers of Evans Cycles.
