Directorate Changes

Sports Direct is pleased to announce the appointment of David Daly as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Daly will join the Board and the audit committee with effect from 2 October 2017.

David has 30 years' international experience in the sporting goods industry working for Nike until his retirement in 2015, most recently as Senior Director for Nike's Club and Federation Business based in Amsterdam. He is also a non-executive director of Fulham Football Club.

Dr Keith Hellawell, Chairman of Sports Direct, said: "I am delighted that David will be joining Sports Direct as a Non-Executive Director, he will bring very relevant industry expertise and experience to the Board."

Mr Daly said: "I am delighted to be given this opportunity to work with the Board on building a strong future for Sports Direct."

The Company confirms that there is no information to disclose under paragraphs 9.6.13 R (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules in respect of Mr Daly.

Furthermore, the Board was informed on 11 July 2017 that Non-Executive Director Dave Singleton will not stand for re-election at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 6 September 2017, having served on the Board since 2007, and will therefore retire from his position with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting.

Dr Keith Hellawell said: "Dave's skills and expertise will be greatly missed by the Company. I wish him every success in his future endeavours".

Mr Singleton said: "I have enjoyed my experience at Sports Direct and wish them much success in the future".

The Group's Preliminary Results for FY17 will be announced on 20 July 2017.
