("Sports Direct" or the "Company")

Management change

The Board announces that the Acting Chief Financial Officer, Matt Pearson, has informed the Company of his intention to resign in order to take up a role with a different employer.

Matt will remain with Sports Direct as Acting Chief Financial Officer until 31 December 2016.

To assist with a smooth handover and transition of Matt's responsibilities, the Company has appointed Herbert Monteith, an experienced and long-standing member of the Finance team, as Interim Head of Finance, which is not a Board position. Herbert will continue to work closely with Karen Byers, Global Head of Operations, and Sean Nevitt, Global Head of Commercial. 

Mike Ashley, Chief Executive, commented: "Matt has been a valued member of the Sports Direct family for over nine years and he will be a loss to the Company. I wish him all the best for the future and would like to thank him for his time at Sports Direct."

The Board confirms that the Company's trading remains in line with the Company's announcement on 7 October 2016.
