Board Appointment

Sports Direct International plc (LSE: SPD), the UK's leading sports retailer, is pleased to announce that Matt Pearson has been appointed as Acting Chief Financial Officer and will join the Board of Sports Direct International plc with effect from 4 June 2015.

Matt joined Sports Direct International as a Group Financial Accountant from EY, formerly known as Ernst & Young, in June 2007, and was subsequently appointed Group Financial Controller.

Keith Hellawell, Chairman of Sports Direct International plc said: "After a thorough process and following soundings from leading institutions I am delighted that Matt has been appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer and is to join the Board.  Matt is already leading our Group Finance Team and is now perfectly placed to take on the additional responsibilities of this role on an interim basis."

The Company confirms that there is no information concerning Mr Pearson that is required to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
