Appointment of a new Non-Executive Director

The Group is pleased to announce that Andrew Higginson will be appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Group effective as of 02 October 2019.

Andrew is currently the Chair of Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC, a position he has held since January 2015. He is also the Chair of Evergreen Garden Care Limited and a Non-Executive Director of Woolworths Holdings Limited, the South African retailer.

Andrew served as an Executive Director at Tesco PLC for 15 years and was previously the Chair of Poundland Group PLC and N Brown Group Plc, Senior Independent Director of Sky plc and a Non-Executive Director of the Rugby Football Union.

Commenting on his appointment, Gary McGann, Chair of the Group, said “We are delighted to welcome Andrew as a Non-Executive Director. He brings an extensive wealth of board, commercial, retail and leadership experience to the Board.”

There are no further disclosures required in respect of this appointment pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
