Steel Division Organisational Changes

Auckland, 30 October 2012 – Fletcher Building today announced further organisation changes for the Steel division, following Paul Zuckerman’s appointment as chief executive of the Laminates & Panels division.

The long steel and distribution businesses – Pacific Steel, CSP Coating Systems, Fletcher Easysteel and Fletcher Reinforcing – will now report to Mark Malpass, chief executive of the Concrete division. This division will be renamed Infrastructure Products, reflecting the expanded range of products that it manufactures and distributes.

The coated steel businesses – Stramit Building Products, Dimond, Pacific Coil Coaters and Gliderol – will now report to Tim Richards, chief executive of the Building Products division.

Fletcher Building Chief Executive Mark Adamson said the changes would allow for a simplified group structure, and reflected the end markets for the different steel products.

“The Infrastructure Products division manufactures products that are typically used in the early part of the construction cycle and involve heavy manufacturing processes. The Building Products division is comprised of building materials businesses that are more commonly utilised in the middle and latter parts of the construction cycle. In grouping these businesses in this way, we will be looking to leverage existing channels to market and to better serving our customers with total solutions for their needs,” Mr Adamson said.

The changes come into effect from today.
