Silicon Sensor in the black on monthly basis

December 21, 2009

With a positive net result for the group, November has shown Silicon Sensor
in the black on a monthly basis for the first time during the 2009 business
year and since the onset of crisis and market-related instabilities. This
impressive affirmation of upward trends over the last few months comes
after third-quarter yields that clearly surpassed those of Q2. Further
improvement is expected in the 4th quarter. Early steps toward
restructuring and strategic reorientation taken by the Board at the end of
last year are now materialising. At the same time, the Board's mid-year
forecast of a recovery toward the end of the year has been confirmed. At
the same time, many new development projects have again been undertaken,
thus laying the basis for a continued upturn in the next business year.

Even though thrift remains a keynote of corporate policy, new staff will be
hired in the decisive development and distribution functions so that
positive trends can continue. One such recruitment is a European marketing
specialist for optical sensors who will join Silicon Sensor International
AG in January 2010.
