Silicon Sensor International AG: Preliminary Results – Orders on hand +138%

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Sales and EBIT more than doubled July 18, 2006 As expected, the performance of the Silicon Sensor group during the 1st half year of the 2006 business year set a new standard, with sales rising more than two times over the same period last year, to € 15 mn (6/30/2005: € 7.48 mn). The operating result EBIT grew by € 1.2 mn, or 103 %, from € 1.13 mn (6/30/2005) to € 2.3 mn (6/30/2006). The result after interest and taxes was improved for the fifth consecutive year, from € 789,000 (6/30/2005) to € 1.4 mn, an increase of € 650,000. This is more than the earnings in the whole business year 2005. Due to an increase in the number of shares, the income per share for the reporting period was € 0.40 Euro, an improvement of € 0.06 Euro compared with last year (6/30/2005: € 0.34). This gratifying trend has continued into the present quarter. Orders on hand have taken a particularly positive development and, for the group as a whole, rose by 138 % to € 19 mn (6/30/2006) as against last year (6/30/2005: € 8 mn). Compared with the first quarter orders on hand rose by 46 % (3/31/2006: Euro 13 mn). Here again, the trend continued into the 2nd half year. All figures reflect the current and provisional status of the consolidated annual financial statements and may be amended on the basis of audit findings.
