Silicon Sensor on solid growth course Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Silicon Sensor on solid growth course Sales rose by 8 %, EBIT rose by 14 % The Silicon Sensor groups attained a solid growth tempo in the business year 2002, despite the fact that overall economic framework conditions have continued to worsen since the end of the business year. We are able to report positive business performance. As compared to the same time period in the previous year, turnover rose by 8 % from Euro 10.68 mn to Euro 11.55 mn. EBITDA rose by 6 % from Euro 1.748 mn (Dec. 31, 2001) to Euro 1.857 mn (Dec. 31, 2002). The operating result EBIT increased by 14 % from Euro 648,000 (Dec. 31, 2001) to Euro 739,000 (Dec. 31, 2002). Earnings before taxes rose by 75 % from Euro 211,000 to Euro 335,000. Earnings after interest and taxes were diminished by 20 % from Euro 418,000 (Dec. 31,2001) to Euro 335,000 (Dec. 31,2002). Earnings per share totalled Euro 0.16 during the reporting period, diminishing by Euro 0.06 as compared to the same time period in the previous year (Dec. 31, 2001: Euro 0.22). The operating cashflow rose by 94 % from Euro 399,000 (2001) to Euro 755,000 (2002). Despite the perceptible difficulties several of our customers are having in riding out the currently weak market environment and dealing with declines in turnover of in some cases up to 40 %, the group s orders on hand decreased only by 22 % from Euro 11.22 mn to Euro 8.77 mn. The wide range of sectors from which Silicon Sensor group s customers stem had a positive effect. The number of personnel employed by the Silicon Sensor group at the end of the year sank to a total of 108 employees (Dec. 31, 2001: 115) as a result of the full utilisation of synergies between the subsidiary companies.
