Positive developments over the past few months and a recently received major order from a well-known customer in the optical industry prompted the executives to take this move. The groups expected result is being raised by 15 per cent from Euro 238,000 to Euro 274,000. This ambitious plan would mean a Euro 1.27 million boost in the Silicon Sensor groups results since last year. At the same time, the original turnover target for 2001 was increased by Euro 500,000 from Euro 10.2 million to Euro 10.7 million. The order received today from an international company operating in the optical industry for the delivery of customised, high-speed Avalanche photodiodes has raised co-operation with this customer to an unprecedented level. These optical high-end sensors, which are developed and manufactured in Berlin, are used in high-sensitivity precision units for the exact measurement of large distances. This key order will also help the Silicon Sensor group to consistently consolidate its leading position in the field of customised optical high-end sensors.
