Silicon Sensor reached positive Earnings Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Silicon Sensor reached positive Earnings EBITDA 1.131 TEuro, EBIT 307 TEuro We are especially proud of having reached the break-even point with the Silicon Sensor group on a yearly basis. This result confirms our optimism for excellent continued development in the near future. In the third quarter 2001 the consolidated profit after tax and interest went up by 485 KEuro from -335 KEuro (III/2000) to 150 KEuro and the EPS went up by 0.27 Euro from -0.19 Euro (III/2000) to 0.08 Euro. In the first nine months of 2001 the net profit went up by 1.080 KEuro from -1.062 KEuro (30.09.2000) to 18 KEuro (30.09.2001). The EBITDA went up by 1.814 KEuro from -683 KEuro to 1.131 KEuro. The EBIT went up by 1.304 KEuro from -997 KEuro (30.09.2000) to 307 KEuro (30.09.2001). During the first nine months of this business year, the growth rate of the Silicon Sensor Group has developed in accordance with schedule. Compared to the same period last year, went up by 129% from 3.4 mill Euro (30.09.2000) up to 7,7 mill Euro (30.09.2001) and in doing so confirms the ambitious plans for the financial year 2001. This is particularly remarkable since customer relations only develop in the course of several years of close cooperation in this scope of business. The Silicon Sensor Group holds to its aim of nearly doubling turnover in the year 2001. The backlog of orders in the group at the end of the third quarter 2001 went up by 174% from 3.68 mill Euro to 10.08 mill Euro. At the end of october the backlog of orders went up to 10.2 mill Euro. The Managing Board expects even higher growth rates for the group in the last quarter of 2001. Profit expectations per share were initially raised to approximately EUR 0.15 at 23 August 2001. Expansion in the American market should be fully absorbed by 2002 with earnings per share likely increasing to 0.50 Euro. The Report for the first nine months will be publicized today.
