Der Umsatz steigerte sich im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum auf mehr als 131% und damit auf 6,6 Mio. DM. Dies ist um so bemerkenswerter als sich Kundenbindungen in unserem Geschäftsbereich erst über mehrere Jahre der intensiven Zusammenarbeit herausbilden. Die Silicon Sensor Gruppe hält an ihrem Ziel, den Umsatz im Jahr 2000 nahezu zu verdoppeln, fest. Das Ergebnis aller operativ tätigen deutschen Gesellschaften ist in den ersten neun Monaten mit einem Gewinn von 0,5 Mio DM deutlich positiv ausgefallen. Der Konzernverlust der ersten neun Monate beträgt, bedingt durch den verstärkten Aufbau eigener US-Produktionskapazitäten im Packaging und den Strukturaufbau in der AG. 1,28 Mio DM. Gerade durch den verstärkten Aufbau der amerikanischen Tochtergesellschaft, der als Investition in die Zukunft angesehen und sich in den nächsten Jahren deutlich auszahlen wird, verschiebt sich das geplante positive Ergebnis auf das Jahr 2001. Für die Pacific Silicon Sensor Inc. wird der Break Even trotzdem planmäßig für das Jahr 2002 angestrebt und auch erreicht werden. In den ersten neun Monaten wurden die Voraussetzungen für weiteres Wachstum der Silicon Sensor Gruppe geschaffen. Besondere Wachstumsschübe kamen dabei aus den Bereichen Bildverarbeitung und Bauindustrie, in dem neue Aufträge von namhaften Kunden verbucht werden konnten. Der Auftragsbestand, aktuell DM 7,2 Mio, entwickelte sich, wie in den Vorjahreszeiträumen, dabei in etwa auf die Größe des entsprechenden Umsatzes. Weltweit hat der Markt für Sensorikprodukte ein Volumen von mehreren Mrd. US-Dollar mit stetig steigender Tendenz. Noch fallen die Anteile kundenspezifischer High Class Sensoren in diesem Markt mit knapp 12% ziemlich gering aus. Die Entwicklung zeigt allerdings sehr deutlich, in welche Richtung sich der Markt entwickelt. Um den Produktinnovationen auf den Markt standhalten zu können, sind die Hersteller von Sensorikprodukten immer stärker darauf angewiesen, kundenspezifische High Class Sensoren einzusetzen. Compared to the same period last year, turnover increased to more than 131%, that is to 6.6 million German marks. This is particularly remarkable since customer relations only develop in the course of several years of close co-operation in this scope of business. The Silicon Sensor Group holds to its aim of nearly doubling turnover in the year 2000. With a profit of 0.5 million German marks, the result of all operative German companies turned out clearly positive during the first nine months. The consolidated loss of the first nine months, resulting from the increased establishment of US production facilities in packaging and from the structural organisation within the AG (incorporated society), amounts to 1.28 million German marks. It is particularly due to the increased establishment of the American subsidiary corporation, which is considered to be an investment in the future that will pay off considerably in the next few years, that the positive scheduled result is being postponed to the year 2001. Nevertheless, the break even for the Pacific Silicon Sensor Inc. is still scheduled for and will also be reached in the year 2002. During the first nine months, foundations were laid for further growth of the Silicon Sensor Group. Upsurges particularly came from the picture processing and building industry where new orders placed by notable customers could be reported. As in the same periods of last year, the volume of orders on hand, DM 7.2 millions at present, developed to the amount of the corresponding turnover. The market for sensor-products has a volume of several billion US dollars with a continuously upward going trend. With just 12%, the proportion of customized High Class Sensors has been rather low in this market up to now. But the development clearly shows in which direction the market is developing. The manufacturers of sensor-products are more and more dependent on using customised High Class Sensors in order to be able to stand up to the product innovations in the market – the best basis for further growth of the Silicon Sensor Group.
