Silicon Sensor still on growth curve

September 17, 2008

The Silicon Sensor group is growing according to schedule. The move from
the old production facility to the new premises has begun. The start of
production in the new facility in Berlin is scheduled for November 2008.

Simultaneously, the Dresden subsidiary Microelectronic Packaging Dresden
GmbH (MPD), has been able to win two new customers, one automotive and one
in the sector of medical technology.

There will be cooperation with the automotive customer based on a business
award for so far four years and for one automotive platform. The company
will manufacture for this customer a torque sensor module for adaptive
steering systems. In the future an expansion of production is planned for
further automotive platforms.

For the customer in the medical technology sector the MPD will manufacture
an optical emitter and reception module, which will be used in blood sugar
measuring instruments for self-diagnosis. A first contract has been signed
and further agreements of cooperation are planned.
