Silicon Micro Sensors GmbH adds to value chain of Silicon Sensor
International AG

Silicon Micro Sensors GmbH, a company headquartered at Dresden/Germany and
established by Silicon Sensor International AG and Wilhelm Prinz von Hessen
at the end of 2006, has started business. The new subsidiary, in which
Silicon Sensor International AG holds 85 % of the shares, began to develop
and market sensor-based products on January 1 this year. The accent will
initially be on pressure sensors for the automotive industry and camera
systems for security and automotive applications, with most sensors
supplied by Microelectronic Packaging Dresden GmbH (MPD), another
subsidiary of Silicon Sensor International AG.

The parent company targets euro sales in the single-digit region and
break-even results for its new daughter in 2007. The Managing Director is
Wilhelm Prinz von Hessen who formerly managed MPD which has been under the
sole management of Jörg Ludewig since January 1, 2007.

Founding Silicon Micro Sensors which has now become active has meant
another logical step along the value chain for the Silicon Sensor Group. At
the same time, we strengthen MPD´s position as a service provider for
construction and connection technologies.

Silicon Micro Sensors is now talking to an international supplier of
automotive systems about deliveries of a night vision system for the
premium brand of a major car manufacturer. Negotiations are expected to be
finished in mid-2007; the production start is planned for the 3rd quarter.
More promising talks are underway with suppliers of automotive systems and
carmakers about the development and manufacture of new types of pressure
sensors.
