Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Certain Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On May 13, 2019, First Community Corporation (the “Company”), the holding company for First Community Bank (the “Bank”), announced that Chief Credit Officer, David Proctor, would retire effective July 31, 2019 and John “Jack” Walker, the Company’s current Loan Approval and Special Assets Officer has been appointed to serve as Chief Credit Officer upon Mr. Proctor’s retirement. Mr. Walker, age 53, has been with the Bank for over 10 years and has worked side-by-side with Mr. Proctor in the bank’s credit administration area.

The Company also announced that Chief Financial Officer, Joseph Sawyer, intends to retire later in 2019, after his successor has been selected and appointed and a transitional period has been completed.

A copy of the press release announcing the retirements and promotion is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is hereby incorporated by reference.
