Asta Sihvonen-Punkka appointed Fingrid’s Executive Vice President as of 1 July 2019

Fingrid Oyj’s Board of Directors has appointed Senior Vice President of Markets Asta Sihvonen-Punkka as the company’s Executive Vice President effective 1 July 2019. Asta Sihvonen-Punkka (Lic.Sc. Economics. , M.Sc. For.) has been employed with the company since 2016.

Fingrid’s current Executive Vice President, Kari Kuusela, who heads Asset Management, will retire on 1 July 2019 after a lengthy career.

“Asta Sihvonen-Punkka is highly eligible to act as deputy to the President & CEO when necessary. She has a solid management background, not just through her work at Fingrid, but also as director general of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority and before that, working in various directorial positions at the Energy Market Authority and the Finnish Competition Authority. She has good interaction skills and extensive contacts with the company’s key stakeholders, as well as strong knowledge of the electricity markets and EU legislation,” says President & CEO Jukka Ruusunen in reference to the appointment.
