OIL SHOWS IN FURY-1, PEL 115, COOPER BASIN

Monitor Energy Ltd (“Monitor” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has encountered good oil shows in the Fury-1 well.

The Company reports from the well site that the primary objective within the Murta Formation has been drilled and that oil shows are present in the gross interval between 1309 and 1321 metres. The oil is contained within fine grained Murta Formation sandstones and has strong pale blue fluorescence and moderate cut, leaving a blue/white rim stain.

Fury-1 will continue drilling to its second objective in the Permian Formation and a total depth of 2000m, expected to be reached in approximately five days. It will then be evaluated by wireline logs, sidewall cores and testing to determine the exact intervals and reservoir parameters of the sandstones containing the oil.

Managing Director, Jon Roestenburg said: “The results so far are very encouraging and indicate that the Fury-1 discovery underpins the Company’s Cooper Basin entry through the PEL115 farmin and Joint Venture. Having a successful first well at this stage of the life of the Company is a significant milestone for us”.

Following the completion of drilling operation at Fury-1, the rig will be moved to the Airacobra Prospect to drill the second well in the current PEL 115 program.

Monitor will earn 42% of PEL115 through drilling these two wells with Victoria Petroleum NL 33% (Operator) and Lion Petroleum Pty Ltd (25%). Signed:
